Making Cookies

Heading into the last week of the school year, my life is usually pretty intense and causes me great stress. It's been a good change to have family over this weekend. I have almost forgotten about the hours of work I have yet to do before Friday.... almost. Thank goodness for little "distractions".
Making cookies takes a lot longer with eight little helping hands....but it sure is more fun!

Not a fan of the loud sound of the beaters.

Psych!

Once in awhile, a TV show comes along that is so amazingly brilliant and entertaining, you can watch the episodes over and over again and never tire of them. There is something new to discover in each quirky hour!

Such is "Psych", the snarky, funny, at times suspenseful and even poignant show that I have discovered in the last few months. Not only is the writing clever and witty-- every  single actor and actress is superb in their various roles.

Shawn Spencer, played by James Roday, is a very attractive man who is witty and spontaneous and charming and just a little bit, shall we say, ADHD. (I love him on the show, but I suspect he would drive me crazy in real life.) His overbearing father taught him to be hyper-observant to the point that Shawn can pretend to be "psychic" and he opens a psychic detective agency with his best friend, Gus.
A straight-man side-kick who calls his friend on his craziness but sometimes joins in, who is a "sympathetic crier", just a little OCD, sings and tap-dances, and drives a little blue Toyota Echo he is fiercely protective of, Gus (Dule Hill) is another superb and well-played character.
You can't help but get involved in the story lines and the TV lives of the characters. Watch an episode or two, and I guarantee you too will be hooked! (:

Random Thoughts

Some of my favorite flowers are tulips and daffodils. I think because they are the first colorful plants to poke their heads up and proclaim that Winter is (or should be) over. These particular flowers survived a snowstorm. Summer WILL come!
Sometimes I get so tired I feel like I could just let someone push me around in a cart while I take a nap.....
ahhh....to be a child.
I feel very appreciated this week, as our great PTA has done fun things for us each day! This is my door decoration.
I love the smell of bleach. I love washing my sheets and whites in bleach and then enjoying the lingering smell until the next wash. I think that, as well as smelling very clean, it also reminds me of swimming pools. I loved playing in swimming pools when I was growing up, and some of my favorite memories involve going swimming in the Springville Pool with my grandma when I was 7. I wanted to have blonde hair in the worst way, and I secretly hoped the chlorine would "dye" my hair blonde if I went swimming often enough.
